Symposium Examines Emerging Trends in Seniors Housing

The latest information about emerging trends and evolving markets for the nation’s 50+ population will be presented during the 2003 Seniors Housing Market, which will be held April 28-30 at the Esmeralda Resort & Spa in Palm Springs/Indian Wells, Calif.

Among the important emerging trends the conference will explore:

  • Older adults are looking for “lifestyle” and are smarter, wealthier and more demanding than previous generations.
  • Demand for universal design is on the rise.
  • More consumers want to “age in place.”
  • Rental housing is providing an attractive lifestyle option for the 50+ consumer.
  • Smaller infill projects are gaining favor in urban areas where land is becoming scarcer.

Also, Ralph Spago, general manager of Standard Pacific Homes, will share his experiences in developing Talega Gallery, the company's first active adult neighborhood located in the new master planned community of Talega in San Clemente, CA.

Symposium attendees will have an opportunity to tour Heritage Palms by Lennar Family of Builders, Seasons at Mira Flores by LINC Housing, Sun City Palm Desert by Del Webb and Trilogy at La Quinta by Shea Homes.
