Home Builders Institute Job Corps students will showcase their trade skills at the Job Corps Skills and Employment booth, W5683, at the 2012 NAHB International Builders’ Show in Orlando on February 8-11.

IBS attendees can discuss employment possibilities with HBI Job Corps pre-apprentices as they demonstrate their brick masonry, carpentry, electrical, facilities maintenance, painting and plumbing skills.

HBI Job Corps staff members from across the country also will be available to answer questions about the Job Corp's 152 training programs and how employers can hire their graduates.

“IBS offers our students a chance to show that they are ready for employment, demonstrating a variety of techniques they’ve learned through the HBI Job Corps program,” said Keith Albright, HBI’s vice president for Job Corps. “During the show, they will build an exterior brick wall, plumb a bathroom vanity, wire light fixtures and switches, and patch and paint an interior wall.”

At the booth, IBS attendees also can enter a drawing for a professional tool set — and compete against an apprentice in HBI’s annual nail driving contest.
