Greening Missouri Homes Conference Set for March 16-17
 A group of local Missouri home builders associations is partnering with the University of Missouri to present a two-day green building conference in March.
The Greening Missouri Homes conference will take place March 16-17 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City and focus on how green building and the National Green Building Standard advance the construction of home building.
The conference is intended to bring together professionals in all parts of the home building and remodeling industry — builders, remodelers, appraisers, code officials, Realtors®, financiers and more.
The conference also offers an opportunity to obtain the NAHB Certified Green Professional educational designation, with the "Business Management for Building Professionals" class held on March 15 and the "Green Building for Building Professionals" classes on March 18-19, both sponsored by the HBA of Central Missouri.
St. Louis green builder Matt Belcher is chairing the conference. The former president of the HBA of St. Louis and Eastern Missouri is working closely with the university’s Center for Sustainable Energy.
“With the evolution of building codes and the creation of the National Green Building Standard, advancing the experience of those involved with the housing industry to safely and economically develop, build and retrofit Missouri’s housing stock is a top priority,” Belcher said.
