Green Building Litigation Webcast Airs Jan. 12

Aimed at helping home builders take steps to avoid green building claims and litigation, defense-bar construction lawyers will discuss the challenges, solutions and the latest green building construction litigation developments in a DRI webcast on Jan. 12 at 2:00-3:30 p.m. EST.

One of three panelists, David Crump, NAHB's director of legal research, will provide up-to-date information on the association’s National Green Building Program, the ANSI-approved National Green Building Standard, the NAHB Certified Green Professional designation, the NAHB green building verification process, and the role of federal, state and local governments in providing incentives and imposing mandates for green building.

Other panelists include Kathy R. Davis, a partner in the Birmingham, Ala., law offices of Carr Allison, and chair of that firm’s construction law group; and, Sean W. Martin, a partner in the Chattanooga, Tenn., law offices of Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan, specializing in construction litigation.

The webcast will be of particular interest to home builders, remodelers, architects, product suppliers, construction and insurance coverage litigators, in-house counsel for construction or engineering firms, and insurance company representatives handling defense and indemnity claims.

Included will be discussion of the latest litigation developments, effective contract drafting, handling product liability claims, marketing issues, insurance coverage concerns, available insurance products, the NAHB National Green Building Program and the latest activity of federal, state and local governments.

The webcast is being conducted by DRI, the Chicago-based national organization of defense trial lawyers and corporate counsel.

The State Bar of California has approved this webcast for CLE credit. Visit www.dri.org for additional accreditation information.
