'Opportunity Knocks' Brochure Updated with New Tax Credits

NAHB has revised the popular consumer brochure “Opportunity Knocks for Home Buyers” to include information on the extended $8,000 first-time home buyer tax credit, the new $6,500 repeat buyer credit and the increased income limits — which give many more Americans the opportunity to take advantage of a tax credit for buying a home.

The four-color, four-page brochure also provides real examples of typical tax savings through the first five years of homeownership, explains the power of leveraging and describes other advantages of owning a home.

Home builders associations and their members are encouraged to print this resource and distribute it in sales offices, at home shows and anywhere there is a consumer audience of potential home buyers. The PDF brochure can be downloaded at www.nahb.org/opportunitybrochure. You must be logged in with your user name and password to access this page.

Non-members and consumers can access the brochure at www.nahb.org/homebuyerbrochure.

NAHB has created a full set of tax credit promotional resources to help members and HBAs get the word out about the tax credits at www.nahb.org/taxcreditmaterials. HBAs and members can download print ads, Web banners, fact sheets and radio spot scripts and access YouTube videos that can be placed on Web sites.

All the promotional resources produced by NAHB feature NAHB’s consumer Web site on the housing tax credits — www.federalhousingtaxcredit.com — which has received more than 6.5 million visits to date. The site explains the tax credit eligibility requirements, gives answers to commonly-asked questions and links to additional homeownership resources.

For more information on the tax credit promotional resources, e-mail NAHB Public Affairs, or call 800-368-5242 x8447.
