NAHB-Produced Programs on the DIY Network

The NAHB Production Group produces weekly television shows for consumers on the DIY network. The following is the latest lineup:

"Rock Solid" on DIY

Episode: "Boundary Wall"

• July 29, 5:00 p.m. EDT

An old-fashioned, double-faced boundary wall using different shapes and sizes of local stone is one wall that almost everyone wants, but it's also one of the most difficult to build — unless you know the secret of hosts Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns. They build a boundary wall of local stone and top it off with a natural stone cap. The result is a stunning, cost-effective wall that stands head and shoulders above the competition, even though it's only two feet high.

"Indoors Out" on DIY

Episode: "Backyard Sun Room"

• July 30, 5:30 p.m. EDT

The inside of Jane's and Barry's house lacks natural light, but whenever the family heads outside, they end up on a small, splintery deck. DIY hosts Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns replace the deck with a spacious circular paver patio and an aluminum and steel pergola. With a little ingenuity, they turn straight decking boards into curved stairs and a ceramic planter into a bubbling water feature. Last but not least, Dean and Derek transform an overgrown beech forest in the backyard with some strategic trimming, accent lighting and additional planting. When the job is completed, Jane and Barry have a spacious outdoor room for enjoying fresh air, natural light and Mother Nature's natural beauty.
