Tickets Available for EnergyValue Housing Awards at IBS

Tickets are now available for the 2008 EnergyValue Housing Awards, the housing industry’s most prestigious award competition honoring builders who have successfully integrated energy efficiency and environmental responsibility into the design, construction and marketing of their new homes.

Hosted annually by the NAHB Research Center in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory and NAHB, the EVHA banquet will be held at the Rosen Plaza Hotel in Orlando on Feb 13 during the International Builders’ Show.

Bob Jones, NAHB’s vice president/secretary and a leading industry spokesman on green building, will be the keynote speaker at the awards. With oversight of the association’s green activities, Jones has made substantial advances in raising awareness of green building and energy efficiency among NAHB members, policy makers, trade groups and the public.

Andy Karsner, assistant secretary for energy efficiency and renewable energy for the Department of Energy, will also make remarks.

The NAHB Energy Subcommittee created the EVHA program in 1996 to help educate the home building industry and the public about successful approaches to energy-efficient construction. In the 13 years of the awards program, the housing industry has seen the bar raised substantially for energy performance.

One finalist will be named 2008 EVHA Builder of the Year.

Leading up to the awards ceremony, members of the public can also select their favorite energy-efficient home by voting for the 2008 People’s Choice award. Click here to learn more about this year’s finalists and vote online.
