The New American Home (TNAH) will be celebrating its 25th anniversary when it opens its doors to attendees at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando next month, once again displaying innovative building materials, cutting-edge design and the latest construction techniques to provide home builders with inspiration for energy-efficient, durable and stylish homes.

And as the association prepares to launch the NAHB National Green Building Program, The New American Home will also hold the distinction of being the first show home built and certified to the program’s scoring tool. The house achieved a gold certification level. ...

Avoid the Lines, Register Online for IBS by Jan. 25

Online registration and the discounted “regular” registration fees for the 2008 International Builders’ Show in Orlando have been extended until Friday, Jan. 25.

The show will run from Feb. 13-16, with pre-show education beginning Saturday, Feb. 9.

Register online and when you arrive at the Orange County Convention Center, simply bring a picture ID to any Advanced Registration Counter and pick up your badge.

Members Urged to Use NAHB Online Resources to Sell Homes

As part of NAHB’s continuing efforts to help members and state and local home builders associations respond effectively to the challenges raised by the current housing slowdown, NAHB President Brian Catalde reached out to the national membership just after the holidays with an e-mail message on available NAHB resources and a number of promotional tools that can be used immediately.

“As our industry continues to experience a significant downturn in many markets nationwide, NAHB leadership is focused on helping members and associations in any way it can,” Catalde said. ...

Stable Home Sales Provide Early Sign of Road to Recovery

With help from the Congress and an accommodating policy from the Federal Reserve, the housing industry will begin its recovery in the second half of this year, according to an NAHB year-end housing forecast teleconference.

"I think the best bet is that 2008 is the year we will be looking at the bottom for various components of the housing market," said NAHB Chief Economist David Seiders. ...

NAHB Branding Online Survey Coming Week of Jan. 21

NAHB members are encouraged to fill out an online Web-based survey on NAHB branding that will be sent via e-mail and arriving in members’ inboxes during the week of Jan. 21. Member feedback is crucial to the NAHB branding effort now underway.

The survey should take 10 minutes or less to complete. All answers are confidential.
