Piedmont ‘Gas Girl’ Receives Associate of the Year Award

In recognition of her outstanding service and contributions to the housing industry and the community, Kathy Craven-Snodgrass, a Piedmont Natural Gas sales representative in Winston-Salem, N.C. for 19 years, received the NAHB Associate of the Year Award during the International Builders’ Show earlier this month in Orlando, Fla.

Craven-Snodgrass is the first North Carolinian to win the award since the mid-1980s, and her name was submitted by the North Carolina Home Builders Association.

Craven-Snodgrass has chaired many HBA committees at the local, state and national levels, including the NAHB Associate Members Committee in 2006. She was inducted into the Associate Hall of Fame in 2000.

"If you're going to keep up with Kathy, you'd better put on your running shoes because she doesn't waste a minute," said Ranelle Warfield, vice president of sales and marketing for Piedmont Natural Gas. "She's teamwork in action. Kathy stays in contact with all the Piedmont folks in the business, the service and distribution departments, and maintains an extensive network of several hundred heating contractors and builders — all to give the best possible service to her customers and to her builders."

"Kathy uses all the tools and resources available to her," said Warfield. "She cares about Piedmont Natural Gas and her community and is passionate about the home building industry. With only two classes left to complete, she is earning her Certified Graduate Associate designation with NAHB. Recently, Kathy also achieved the NAHB life directorship. She works for Piedmont every minute of every day. Her home building and gas industry network of contacts refer to her as the 'Gas Girl' and it shows in everything she does."
