Endowment Offers Student Grants to Attend IBS

Endowment Surpasses $20 Million in Cash and Pledges

The National Housing Endowment, the philanthropic arm of NAHB, recently surpassed the $20 million mark in cash and pledges.

“This remarkable achievement is particularly gratifying as it allows the endowment to further its goals and achieve the mission that NAHB set for us when we were created,” said Gary Garczynski, endowment chairman and 2002 NAHB president.

“With the recently announced Homebuilding Education Leadership Program (HELP), which will provide funds for two- and four-year universities to develop or enhance residential construction management programs, the National Housing Endowment is well positioned to make a significant mark on the future leaders of the housing industry,” he added

The endowment’s growth and its grant making focus on education, research and training will help ensure the continued vitality of the housing industry, according to Bruce Silver, endowment president and CEO.

“Through these areas we are able to partner with NAHB’s affiliate organizations ― the Home Builders Institute and the NAHB Research Center — to maximize the impact of our grants,” Silver said.

Through grants, the endowment has supported programs vital to the industry, including:

In addition, the endowment has provided seed funding for:

“These are signature programs for NAHB and the housing industry that are making indelible marks on the way we do business,” Garczynski said. “The endowment is proud to have been a part of these efforts and looks to continue that tradition by working to triple the number of students entering residential construction management over the next decade.”

“The endowment would like to thank all of its donors who have made this achievement possible, including past chairs Robert Arquilla, J. Roger Glunt and Dale Stuard. Without their help, this achievement would not have been possible,” Garczynski said.

The donors who helped the endowment surpass the $20 million mark include:
