David and Trish Wilson were named the newest Founding Advocates of the National Housing Endowment, six-figure donors committed to the leadership and growth of the philanthropic arm of NAHB.

David Wilson, a custom home builder and owner of Wilson Construction of Ketchum, Idaho, is the immediate past president of NAHB. He has served as chairman of BUILD-PAC, president of the Wood River Building Contractors Association and the Idaho Building Contractors Association.
For his dedication to the industry in Idaho, Wilson was named Idaho’s Home Builder of the Year in 1993. He also was honored in 1997 and in 1999 with the Outstanding Achievement Award for Profound Influence on the Economics, Social and Political Atmosphere of the Building Industry.
In addition, Wilson served as a councilman and as mayor of Sun Valley. He is credited with efforts to enact Idaho legislation to rein-in excessive impact fees and he has worked nationally on the Endangered Species Act.
“Trish and I feel it is important to give back to the industry and we're impressed by the work that the National Housing Endowment has done to increase training opportunities for the trades, particularly their funding through the Home Builders Institute of the Residential Construction Academy,” Wilson said. “Trish and I want to make an imprint on the future workforce of this industry, and we feel that working with the National Housing Endowment provides the best avenue to accomplish that goal.”
"Dave and Trish are longtime friends and I am especially honored for the trust and confidence they have placed in me and my fellow trustees,” said Gary Garczynski, the endowment's chairman and 2002 NAHB president. “Dave’s presidency was notable for the focus he placed on serving our association members and the endowment shares his values."
"Our new initiative, the Homebuilding Education Leadership Program (HELP), was conceived to serve the needs of this federation, to triple the number of college graduates entering the residential construction management profession over the next decade, and the Wilsons’ gift will help to make that possible,” Garczynksi added.
