Success Reported for Designation Push in February

Tallying the results of activities aimed at publicizing the value of ongoing education for professionals in the home building business, home builders associations around the country are reporting success from their participation this February in NAHB’s 3rd annual National Designation Month.

Last year, more than 15,000 individuals completed courses towards a professional designation. With the designations they earned, they can apply the latest industry information to demonstrate their expertise to prospective customers and take a decisive lead over the competition.

Throughout February, National Designation Month events sponsored by The NAHB University of Housing enabled NAHB members to hone their business skills and impress their clients with the superior training, practical experience and in-depth knowledge commensurate with earning an NAHB designation.

Events From Around the Country

Among activities related to the month-long effort:

• The Home Builders Association of Greater Dallas hosted a reception honoring local designees at its offices in Plano, Texas. Jack Haynes, executive vice president of the National Builder Division for Countrywide Home Loans, was the event's keynote speaker.
  
  
• The Greater Houston Builders Association featured a cover story about NAHB designations in the latest issue of its monthly publication, Houston Builder.
  
  
• The Master Builders Association of Pierce County in Washington State recognized 25 distinguished builders for their designation achievements in its monthly newsletter.
  
  
• The HBA of Greater Kansas City hosted a forecasting seminar along with CGA, CGB and CGR courses throughout the month.
