Napolitano Named Founding Advocate, Endowment Trustee

Fred Napolitano, Sr.

Fred and Jacqueline Napolitano were named the newest Founding Advocates of the National Housing Endowment, six-figure donors committed to the leadership and growth of the philanthropic arm of NAHB.

Fred Napolitano, Sr., a longtime builder and developer in the Hampton Roads, Va. area, will also serve as a member of the endowment’s board of trustees.

Napolitano, the chairman of Pembroke Enterprises and Napolitano Enterprises, was the 1982 president of NAHB. He founded Napolitano Homes with his son, Vincent, in 1977 and has served on the board of directors of IndyMac Bank, and numerous advisory committees for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. He also served as president of the Virginia Beach Chamber of Commerce.

In 1988, Napolitano was inducted into the NAHB National Hall of Fame.

“Having watched the National Housing Endowment grow into the leading housing foundation in the country, I am excited to make this contribution to their efforts,” said Napolitano. “I hope this gift will play a part in helping them to achieve what is a truly ambitious effort to provide a permanent source of funds to address industry challenges.”

“Having known and respected Fred for so long, his generosity in making this gift means a great deal to me and my fellow trustees,” said endowment chairman F. Gary Garczynski. “His tenure as president of NAHB was a hallmark for the industry and we look forward to tapping his well of expertise on critical housing issues.”
