R. Randy Lee Inducted Into New York Home Builders’ Hall of Fame

R. Randy Lee, Esq., principal of Leewood Real Estate Group, founding partner of Lee & Amtzis, LLP and chairman of the board of the Building Industry Association of New York City was inducted into the New York State Builders Association Hall of Fame on Oct. 7 in recognition of his extensive contributions to the building industry.

Sponsored by the association’s Research and Education Foundation and underwritten by the State of New York Mortgage Agency (SONYMA), the Hall of Fame recognizes and honors individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the housing industry in New York State.

Lee has been active in his state’s housing and real estate industries for more than four decades. An advocate for affordable and workforce housing across the state, he has built more than 4,000 homes and apartments, more than half of which were completed in conjunction with the New York City Housing Partnership.

Lee has also provided New York builders with his considerable expertise on legal, land development and no-growth issues.

Lee served as president of the Building Industry Association of New York City in 1992 and 1993. He has been a board member and advisor to the New York State Builders Association and NAHB for more than 20 years and currently serves as chairman of NAHB’s Legal Action Committee (this link is for NAHB members only) and as a member of NAHB’s Executive Board (members only). Last year, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg appointed him as the only builder/developer of the 17-member Staten Island Growth Management Task Force.
