Bob the Builder™ Teaches Kindergartners About Home Safety

Kindergarten classes in the Cabot Public School District in Arkansas are participating in this week’s national observation of Fire Prevention and Safety Week by competing in coloring contests centered around safety tips from Bob the Builder™.

The sponsor of the contest, the Cabot Home Builders Association, is supplying kindergartners with “Bob the Builder’s Blueprints for Home Safety,” a 12-page coloring and activity book that also includes a glossy color poster with 10 tips for avoiding accidents and responding to emergencies.

One winner from each school will receive a $50 savings bond and a “Jack-Hammering Bob the Builder” toy.

“I’m excited about any opportunity for the community to get involved with the schools, especially in a way that benefits the children of the district the way this program will,” said Jim Dalton, assistant superintendent for the schools.

“The safety of young children is an extremely important issue,” he said. “I think these materials will offer an excellent opportunity for parents and teachers to engage in conversation with children about safety.”

Over the past year, NAHB has been working with Bob the Builder to help educate young children about safety issues in their homes.

Now appearing on television in more than 130 countries around the world, Bob is a popular role model for young children and is licensed by HIT Entertainment PLC.
