Kitchen Sinks Deliver Near-Boiling Water

New products from In-Sink-Erator® can help home builders sell their kitchens to prospective buyers who like to cook and who are concerned about the quality and safety of their drinking water.

Headquartered in Racine, WI, the nearly 75-year-old In-Sink-Erator® is a member of the National Council of the Housing Industry — the Supplier 100 of NAHB.

The manufacturer’s Series 1100 delivers near-boiling (190° F) water at the kitchen sink, making it fast and easy to prepare a variety of instant foods and beverages and perform many other household tasks. The series comes in models that dispense the hot water only or both hot and cold water.

A new filtration system is now a standard feature on all Series 1100 models to reduce objectionable odors and provide clean, refreshing water. The filtration system can also be installed in other appliances, such as ice makers and refrigerators.

Two different replacement cartridges are available for the new filtration system: a Chlorine Taste and Odor Reduction cartridge and a Cyst Reduction cartridge. The latter reduces such harmful organisms as cryptosporidium and garidia.

In-Sink-Erator has also developed the Septic Disposer, the first food waste disposer designed for homes with septic tank systems. The disposer’s cartridge adds microorganisms that make it easier for the home’s septic system to break down and process food waste. The treatment is citrus-scented, helping to control sink and drain odors.
